Imagine a city wide party where you see Sarah Jessica Parker singing standards with Oscar de la Renta, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen tending bar, as well as Michael Kors, Justin Timberlake, Kate Hudson, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani (just to name a few) at various stores throughout NYC supporting the industry. Sounds amazing right? This was Fashion’s Night Out (FNO) last September! A collaboration between American Vogue, the Council of Fashion Designers of America, NYC & Company, and the City of New York, FNO is a citywide initiative where New York and other cities around the world host one-of-a kind events in stores open after-hours to the public.

FNO is returning to New York on September 10th. This year, mizu new york has teamed up with CFDA accessories for hair designer Colette Malouf (as seen on Gossip Girl and Sex and the City) to launch her fall collection at mizu for Fashion’s Night Out.

Inspired by the blue butterfly, the Fall 2010 Collection incorporates some of Colette’s favorite materials including mesh, silk jersey, pearl and crystal. “Filled with mysterious beauty, the blue butterfly attracts attention as it flies and catches the light,” says Colette. “To give women the same allure, I mixed different textures including crystal on botanic shaped metal mesh, crisp iridescent silk taffeta and fluffy marabou feather.”

Key styles include a bendable headband that can be shaped to the face in crisp taffeta, a flamenco ponytail holder and intricate, hand-embroidered roses with wire edges. A bold mix of rich black and blue is featured in addition to champagne with coffee and grey accents, mauve and lavender.

Proving her commitment to supporting women across the globe, Colette enlists women in Bolivia to create the crochet wire used in many of the new styles. The women are paid three times the local wage, affording them the opportunity to be independent and take care of their families.

mizu will be launching and selling Colette Malouf’s fall line during Fashion’s Night out from 6pm-10pm. Shoppers will be able to enjoy complimentary beverages by Mekhong and Chang and BluePrintCleanse while they shop to the beats of DJ Inbetween. Jewelry designer Gabriela de la Vega will also be on hand showing her Fall 2010 collection. Make sure you arrive quick because the first 20 guests to purchase a Colette Malouf accessory will receive complimentary hair styling by a mizu stylist. There will also be an ongoing raffle featuring prizes from Colette Malouf and mizu.  Don't miss the opportunity to get great accessories in New York's best hair salon.

Want to keep your hair looking healthy and shiny as the sun starts beaming down on you the next few months?  Our stylists in Boston and New York came up with the "Top 5" hair and beauty items that everyone shouldn't live without this season. Here's what made the cut:

1. Hair UV Protectants- Shield your hair and scalp from harmful rays that cause frizz and color fading by using a spray-on UV protector such Oribe Anti-Humidity Spray or Kerastase Soleil Aqua-Seal Protective Fluid-Cream.

2. Deep Conditioning Masks - Nourish and repair heat damage by using a deep conditioning treatment once or twice a week after shampooing. Aveda Suncare Mask or Moroccan Oil Restorative Masque both have a great fragrance and leave your hair feeling soft and smooth.

3. Travel Hair Dryers- Leave your bulky dryers at home and pack a compact Bio Ionic Travel Dryer to quickly blast your locks dry. It's dual-voltage so you can pack it for your international journeys too!

4. Vivid Nail Polish Colors- Retire your Bubble Bath and Ballet Slippers this year because OPI's Jade is the New Black is our favorite new hue to get those hands and toes noticed.

5. Hair Accessories - Put together a quick and easy look to go out on a hot summer night using fashionable headbands or clips from Colette Malouf's collection.  Accessories can be worn with hair tied up or left down, which makes it simple and fun to switch up your style.
