Quick Summer Hair Ideas

Summer is around the corner, and for most of us, that means weekends will be flooded with events such as weddings, barbecues and trips to the beach. A simple and timeless updo we've been seeing at awards shows and all over fashion magazines right now is the forgotten BUN. High buns, low buns, side buns, loose buns, messy buns, sleek buns, (hamburger buns) are all easy to create at home or with a stylist at your hair salon.
If you are a bride-to-be, part of a wedding party or have a prom or formal event, this classic style can be modified to flatter any face shape and be a comfortable and original glam look for your big day or night out.
Thinking of trying this at home? Here are a few steps to help you create an easy and fun style before work or straight from the beach:
-Start by brushing or combing hair back to the desired position of the bun. Make sure you keep your head slightly tilted facing up to avoid any loose hair by the nape.
-Use a ponytail holder to secure the hair in place.
-Start by twisting the tail into a coil around the ponytail holder. For those with thicker hair, place a bobby-pin in the coil as you wind it continuously around the ponytail holder. This will require multiple bobby-pins. Those with finer textured hair, wind and twist the coil first all the way around and then insert 2 bobby pins about 45 degrees apart from each other.
-Use a bobby-pin to secure the end of the ponytail to the bun.
-Finish by using a light hair spray to hold any fly-away hairs.
That's it! And remember...no bun is created equal, so try positioning it around different parts of your head for unique styles.
