mizu new york stylist Dominick Pucciarello lead the hair team for newcomer Dominic Louis (www.dominiclouis.com) for his Fall 2011 presentation at the Bunker. Dominic Louis’s Fall 2011 collection, the “Urban Emperor”, featured an entire line-up of male models to show off his unisex line. "To me this fall was about finding your inner barbarian and channeling it into a feeling of royalty and inner strength. Hence the idea of an urban emperor and the level of luxury yet rawness you will find in the collection,” said Dominic Louis, “It was about elevating the clothes and myself in a natural and realistic manner, while referencing my past present and future."
For most of the model’s, Dominick added clip-in extensions to give them long, warrior hair. Since almost all of the models had short hair, Dominick used Bumble and bumble’s hair powder to help the extensions blend in. To create texture he used Oribe Original Pomade and Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. Make-up artist Landy Dean (www.landydean.com) lead the make-up team and the skincare products were provided by Lab Series for Men (www.labseries.com).
mizu boston stylist Josie Faria worked with Pantene’s celebrity stylist (best known for being Gwen Stefani’s stylist), Danilo, for the Cushnie et Ochs (http://cushnieetochs.com/) show at Milk Studio’s on Sunday. The look, created by Danilo, was a simple bun accessorized with a turkey feather. We loved this look because it is so simple to recreate and something we can actually wear (except maybe with a smaller feather!) The look was bold enough to make a statement but didn’t overpower the clothes. We had a chance to sit and watch the show and fell in love with a handful of pieces. As soon as the fall line hits the stores we are certainly walking around the corner to Bergdorfs (where you can currently buy their line) to pick up some fall outfits!
