Christine Iris Moore

Christine Iris Moore is known for her intuitively sculptural way of working with hair. She began her career being mentored by the creative minds of Umi Salon on Newbury Street learning classic precision cutting methods. Inspired by both classic styles made popular by Vidal Sassoon and forward thinking avant garde concepts, Moore enjoys working both conservatively or creatively. She often combines classic methods with abstract dry cutting for styles that are truly one of a kind.

In addition to her formal apprenticeship, she has also taken numerous classes at Bumble and bumble in Manhattan. Boston Magazine recognized her in 2006 as being Boston's Best Corrective Colorist. Always searching for new sources of inspiration, Moore explains how she continues to evolve her craft, "I always look at international street fashion for ideas because I never know what I'm going to find, it's so much less predictable than commercial fashion, it's always more honest and daring. I may notice a tiny detail about the way someone in Japan is wearing their hair and create a new kind of shape based on it."
