Master Hair Colorist
Perhaps it was the years he spent touring and recording with his Glam Rock band combined with his strong interest in fashion that made his move into the salon industry such a smooth and obvious transition. For more than twenty years, Nico has been a dedicated leader with a passion for excellence within the industry and he still cannot say for sure what sparked that change.
His initial education and apprenticeship was at New York's Vidal Sassoon Salon. He was soon sought after for his color work by many of the musicians and designers that were in and out of the Sassoon salon in those days including Cyndi Lauper, The Talking Heads, Pat Field and Betsy Johnson, to name a few. His editorial credits include Glamour, Mademoiselle and Self magazines in addition to numerous credits for recording artist and pop/rock musicians compact disc jackets.
Today Nico is also called upon to work with advertising and model agencies to achieve the exact colors they need for their campaigns, models and actors. A master of communication and formulation, he never fails to have a brilliant solution for any and every hair color scenario. Nico always shows up armed with a massive array of techniques and tools. Whether working with clients in the salon or advertising and model agencies, he is always the consummate professional and perfectionist.
He currently lives in Manhattan with his girlfriend and two children Ethan and Nico. When he's not working with hair color, he can be found around town teaching them all about this amazing city or maybe in the recording studio laying down some guitar tracks.
